Tonka Turkey Trot 5K Run

Treat yourself to a brisk morning run with friends and support the girls and boys of Minnetonka Track & Field and Cross Country.

On Thanksgiving morning, November 24^th, the second annual TONKA TURKEY TROT 5K will be held on the campus of Minnetonka High School.  The race starts at 8:30 AM, with registration opening at 7:00 AM. Race day registration is $25.  Pre-registration online or mail in the printable application before November 18^th, 2011, the fee is $20 per person.

Last year, runners were greeted with unseasonably low race time temperatures. But, it was widely agreed that everyone had a great time, helped by hot cocoa and fun inside the cozy Minnetonka dome covering the football field. Everyone is welcome, including alumni, families, youngsters, oldsters…oh, and wearing a costume for the race is strongly recommended.  Express your support for Minnetonka High School’s girls and boys Track & Field and Cross Country teams. Over 300 hundred Tonka kids participate in these life-long sports and you can help them with your participation, plus you get a great long sleeve T-shirt attesting that you came, you conquered, you got the T-Shirt.

This year over 500 runners are expected to “trot” through the grounds of the MHS campus on a fun multi-surface 5K course. The electronic timing equipment finally thawed out from last year and will be in use for this year’s race.
