Middle School Runners:
6th graders are invited to run in the 6th grade race that starts at 8:05 am. All other middle school kids (grades 7 and 8) are invited to run in the C race that begins at 10 am.
I will be in Rosemount early and will register 6th graders that are interested. The cost for 6th graders to run is 5 dollars and can be registered the day of.
There will be a bus that leaves the high school at 7 am and will return about an hour after the conclusion of the last race.
Our practices will run from 7:30 -10:00 on Monday-Thursday this week. We need the extra time to teach the runners new strength training exercises. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Uniforms will be distributed Wednesday, 8/31/16 at 4:45 PM in the lower level near the athletic locker rooms. Enter the MHS from the west entrance.
A $100 uniform deposit is required in order to receive a CC uniform. Please bring a check made payable to MTFCCA. This deposit will be refunded at the end of the season when the athlete returns the entire uniform.
Minnetonka Track & Field and Cross Country Association Volunteer Fundraising Opportunity
Where: Target Center
What: Placing tote bags on seats in preparation for Target sales meeting.
Who: Maximum of 50 volunteers, including parents and students.
Money Raised: MTFCCA will receive $100 for each volunteer. (Volunteers are expected to stay the entire time.)
You will need to store your phone during volunteer shift, and please no photos or social media posts.

We are in need of about 15-20 volunteers for about 4 hours the morning of the 4th of July for our Firecracker Run Event in downtown Excelsior. It is a fun morning of helping provide water to runners and cheering them on to the finish line.

In order to join the team at camp you have to log your summer miles and have a parent/guardian sign off on them. Listed below are the mile requirements for each grade:
Freshmen: 150 Miles
Sophomore: 175 Miles
Juniors / Seniors 200 Miles
In order to earn a "Summer Miles" T-Shirt you must run a minimum of 200 miles.
You must participate in 2 fundraising activities during the summer in order to attend camp. If you are not able to participate in fundraising, a $75 donation must be paid to the Track & Field Association.
Practice is from 7:30 - 9:30, we meet at MME until school starts. After school starts our practices are at the MHS Track and run from 3:15-5:30.

The Skippers varsity team was led by a trio of freshman; Sophie Whicher placed 4th overall (14:28.0), Grace Hoelscher 5th (14:36.1), and Libby Halbmaier 10th (14:47.5). Minnetonka, ranked #8 in Class AA, beat #4 Eden Prairie and #11 Lakeville South with a score of 49. Rounding out the scoring for Minnetonka were junior Lucy Hoelscher placing 14th (14:58.8) and freshman Marla Bailey was 16th (15:03.0).
The junior varsity team was paced by 7th grader, Bella Buenting and the junior varsity-c team was lead by sophomore, Sarah Scriver.

The 7th annual Tonka Turkey Trot 5K will take place on Thanksgiving morning at 8:30 AM. We need additional volunteers to help monitor the race course and make sure we provide all runners and walkers with a safe, enjoyable and healthy experience.
