Run Down Cancer

We are once again looking forward to hosting the Victoria Lions Invitational in 2013.  This is the twenty fifth year of the meet with the Victoria Lions as our lead sponsor and want to thank them in advance for the tremendous support they lend to our sport.

As many of you already know, the boys 5K race is named in honor of Justin Kukowski, a former captain and standout runner for the Hawks, who lost his battle with brain cancer several years ago.  To further honor Justin’s memory and lead the fight against cancer, we are initiating a campaign called “Rundown Cancer” at our meet, in the same way football programs have Friday night “Tackle Cancer” games.  All proceeds will go to the Randy Shaver foundation to tackle cancer.  We have spoken with Randy about the idea and he is very excited about the concept to expand outside of just football.

Please share the news with your teams and encourage your parent groups and fans to contribute on the day of the meet. Donation buckets will be placed in several locations at the Par 30 Golf Course for making easy contributions.

Thank you for scheduling the Victoria Lions Invitational!  We look forward to seeing you on the 1st.

Sincerely,

Chan/Chaska Coaches
