I am very excited to be a part of the Tonka Track and Field family! Here is a little bit about me...
I grew up in Alexandria, MN where my first exposure to Track and Field was in 4th Grade. I competed in my first High Jump meet and won. Safe to say, I have been hooked ever since. Through middle school and high school, I competed primarily in High Jump, 300 Meter Hurdles and the 4x400 meter relay, but dipped my toes in about every event I could early on. I remained involved in Alexandria Track and Field through college by assisting in practice and officiating when I was home.
I attended the University of North Dakota, where I competed with their team. I found a love for coaching, so I added a Coaching minor to my degree in Communication. I focused on the events I had not competed in to well-round myself as a coach. I volunteered with Red River High School Track and Field as a Jumps Coach, training three State Champions.
Last year, I spent time volunteering with the Monticello Track and Field program working with their jumpers.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Dereck, whom I met in Track. We spend our off time with our dog, Windsor, and family back in Alexandria.
