Regular Season 2017

Congratulations to our very own Matt Wilkinson MHS Class of 2017 for qualifying for and competing at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in the 3000 meter Steeplechase Track event!  What an accomplishment!  Not too long ago you were our team cross country/track captain running the track and trails around Minnetonka!  We are all so happy for you, and proud of you!

Congratulations to a hard fought and close 3rd place finish at the State Meet!  Also individually to Sean Fries' 2nd place and Will Chose's 21st, both earning All State Honors!  Next stop Nike Heartland Regional in Sioux Falls!

Congratulations to both boys and girls teams for advancing to the State Meet November 2nd at the University of Minnesota!  Also to Section 2AAA Individual champions Sean Fries and Avery Marasco-Johnson!  It is the 4th consecutive year that the boy's team has won the section meet.

Congratulations to the team for winning the Lake Conference Championships at Gale Woods, also to Sean Fries for winning the individual title for 5k in 15:20, and to the three others who earned All Lake Conference Honors - Will Chose, Ben Kraus, and Casey Nordstrom!

Congratulations to the Varsity and JV teams for both winning the 2024 Nike Heartland Preview in Sioux Falls, SD, and to Sean Fries for breaking 15:00 minutes and the school 5K CC record, in placing 1st individually!

Congrats to the Varsity for winning the 2024 Steve Hoag Invite with 20 points, and for the JV for placing a strong 2nd!  Also, to Sean Fries for breaking a long standing course record for the 5k course at Anoka High School running 15:08!!

Another fun team trip to St. John's University for Saturday morning practice and brunch!

Congratulations to the team for placing 2nd in the 2023 Minnesota State Cross Country Meet!  Highest place in school history.....so far!  Congratulations to the girls for also placing 3rd, making the first time both teams were on the podium together!  

Leading the way for the Skippers was Sophomore Sean Fries 7th place finish, followed by Senior Tyler Vos in 18th, and 24th by Junior Will Chose, all earning All State Honors!

Senior Captains T Vos and Arjav after their final Nike Regional race in placing 4th out of the best from the 7 state area, and earning Team At Large consideration for qualifying for nationals! 

Congratulations to the team for winning the 2023 Section 2AAA Championships for the third staight year, and advancing to the State Meet at the University of Minnesota Golf Course on November 4th!  Led by second and third place finishes of Sean Fries and Tyler Vos!  Also, to the JV runners for placing 2nd in the JR/SR race, 2nd in the Soph race, and 5th in the Frosh race at the Lefty Wright JV Grade Level Championships!

Congratulations to the Varsity and JV runners in winning both team titles at the 2023 Nike Heartland Preview in Sioux Falls, South Dakota!

2023 Alumni Run action at the first 400 meters, as the Alumni led by Gilles, Westerlund, Lauerman, and McCollor took charge early, then went 1-2 in the 2.3 mile race, and defeated the Varsity 27-32!

Congratulations to the team for placing a close podium 4th at the 2022 State Meet at St. Olaf College, having two runners in the top 10 overall, with Nick Gilles - 3rd 15:27 and Max Westerlund - 10th 15:37, and Sean Fries top 9th grade finisher!

Congratulations to the team for winning the Section 2AAA Championship, and advancing to the State Meet, also for senior Nick Gilles for repeating as individual champ!

2023 St. John's University Practice Trip!

Congratulations to Nick Gilles for becoming the first cross country state champion in Minnetonka High School history, racing the 5000 meter course at St. Olaf College in 15:22!  Also, to Andrew Vos for placing 13th and earning All State honors, and for the team placing 4th!

Congratulations to the team for winning the Section 2AAA Championships for the 3rd year in a row with 40 points, advancing to the State Meet at the University of Minnesota on November 4th!  They were led by the second and third place finishes of Sean Fries and Tyler Vos!
