TRACK CANCELLED FOR 2020 SEASON

Dear Parents of Track and Field Athletes,

My heart is heavy as we take in the news of everything being closed for the remainder of the school year.  I know it is in everyone's best interest , but that does not make it any easier.

The week that we got to practice with your girls was amazing!  They looked so good, and were really working hard.  On top of that, they are really nice, kind young ladies.  Our entire staff commented on that!  We have missed seeing them every week, and hope that your families are all staying healthy and safe.  Please continue to check our website for any updates and use the workouts that we have posted to keep yourselves healthy and active.

We will continue to communicate with you during May as we hear any future updates on things from school or the MSHSL.

"Do What You Have To Do Until You Can Do What You Want To Do." -Oprah

Please know that our hearts are breaking for your girls, in particular the Seniors. But, we can do this, and we will be okay.

Blessings to each and everyone of you,

Jane Reimer-Morgan

Dear Spring Athletes and Families,

I hope you and your family are doing well. It would have been hard to imagine a few months back the situation we are in now. With the Governor announcing schools will be closed for the remainder of the year, all spring sports have been, consequently, cancelled, as well.

There are still plenty of unknowns, as this situation is fluid and ever-changing.  We don’t have a blueprint for the coming month, summer season or future fall season.  I appreciate everyone’s understanding as we deal with the questions related to this.  Simply, right now we do not have those answers. Any options we have will be directed by Governor, the Minnesota State High School League and our local School Board.

Spring Athletes, we will begin to process refunds. Given the registration system requires a manual entry for each refund, it will take some time. We currently have 1,456 registered athletes. Our goal will be to complete refunds in the next month.  If you have questions related to refunds please contact jane.mcgowan@minnetonkaschools.org

Finally, we are having discussions about honoring those senior athletes that will miss their senior spring season. We will get that information out as soon as we learn what is allowed and what is not allowed.

My heart breaks for the seniors and all athletes missing this spring season.  Hang in there.  Be good and be safe.

Ted Schultz
MHS Activities Director

MTFCCA Membership Plea

There is a need for volunteers to continue the success of the MTFCCA. Our largest fundraiser is the Tonka Turkey Trot and the same core group of parents have shouldered the load for many years.  A special word of thanks to those parents.  Many of these parents no longer have students in the program. If we could get a couple parents to volunteer from each grade level,  it would contribute to continuity and transition from year to year.  A particular need is in the area of graphic arts, but any and all skills are welcome.  If you can help a little or a lot, please consider helping this year and for a few years in the future.
